My paintings are about capturing the power and emotion of familiar objects along with a sense of place. Exploring the intimate and personal is the theme that flows throughout my work.
I am a native New Yorker with a graduate degree in Art form Hunter College, New York. Thanks to classes with Robert Motherwell and William Baziotes, my art is based on Abstract Expressionist concepts. My awards include a public art project by the Jacsksonville Fl. airport, a George Sugarman grant, a Ludwig Vogelstein award and two NYSCA community grants. My work is in the collections of AT&T, Columbia Pictures and Citicorp.
I make oil paintings that highlight familiar, everyday objects suggesting intimacy and relationships. I am currently working on a series inspired by fabric, beds and pillows.
My paintings hint at the passage of time in the same way as images of light and shadow describe a fleeting moment.
