I am a fake architect who makes buildings from cheesecloth, protests profit-driven real estate developers, designs interactions as starting points for reflection and community activism, collaborates for creative movement-building, and paints on sandpaper.
So far I have disobeyed every building code regulation.
Through this imaginary architectural practice in NYC's contested landscapes, I've learned that things that appear delicate (cloth and communities) can be much tougher and resilient than they seem. We still have a lot of work to do, though.
Welcome to Fragile City.
