To assuage my guild as a passive accomplice in the plasticization of our planet, I "rescue" my personal recyclable plastic waste to use in making art. I imagine moveable ever-changing temporary sculptures, such as might form by random collisions in the Great Pacific Garbage patch. Playing at the interface between fantasy and reality, I mask the true identity of things and turn them into something else. Elevating plastic trash into artwork references our confused environmental and political situation, but might also reveal undiscovered perspectives.
