Album Description
I am fascinated by the idea of creating still lifes that are not so still. Inspired by chaos theory, childhood dreams and the desire to be free of gravity, I paint objects falling through space. In my 'Accidental Encounters' series, I include antique and ethnic toys, collected in my travels. The toys represent joy and abandon, suggesting another time and place. I often use reflective vases that allow me to combine still (or not so still) life with figures and interiors. Self-portraits in my studio emerge, revealed in detail on the mirrored surfaces of the vases.
