Fusion Mandala
Duration: 00:00:32
The Fusion Mandala works are collages made out of commonly used color-coded dot stickers, the ones we use to organize, arrange and sell. I want the work to interrogate the idea of devotional and meditative journeys. The purity of the mandala, a universal symbol of life, mind and perfection, is here challenged by divergent structures and colliding grids playing off each other without obviously disturbing the harmony needed for a visual and meditative journey. The sanskrit word "Mandala" translates literally to "circle" in English and *Bindu* - the forehead circle - translates squally literally to "particle" or "dot." As with traditional mandalas, the work's energy resides in both the focused, devotional act of creation and in the later contemplation of the object - - nothing is sacred per se; it just invites a prolonged visual conversation. Album Description
The Sanskrit word "Mandala" translates literally to "circle" in English, and "Bindu" - the forehead circle - translates equally literally to "particle" or "dot." As with traditional mandalas, the work's energy resides in both the focused, devotional act of creation and in the later contemplation of the object -- nothing is sacred per se; it just invites a prolonged visual conversation.
