I am a multi-media artist and use a wide range of materials and formats in my painting, drawing, sculpture, and installations to explore the relationship of microcosm and macrocosm. I am interested in the great mystery and elegance of the universe as well as its often surprising, whimsical and quirky manifestations. I often work with the circle, a symbol of infinity, perfect and endless, referencing both metaphysical concepts and circular forms in nature from the structure within a cell to the display of the starry universe.

In my recent paintings on paper and canvas, I am engaged in bringing the instinctive, immediate, and improvisational qualities of drawing to the process of painting. Using various tools, I scratch, swirl, layer and draw into paint, spontaneously creating intersecting webs of linear markings. The biomorphic, idiosyncratic forms that emerge display the traces of their evolution.

Most recently my work has been included in “Crossing Lines” curated by Beth Dary in Main Window in Dumbo, “Deck the Walls” curated by Dee Shapiro at the National Arts Club in Manhattan, “Color: Primary to Tertiary” curated by Lilly Wei at Site Brooklyn in Brooklyn, and “The Big Small Show” curated by Anne Trauben at Victory Drawing Room in Jersey City.
